Matthew Wood

Matthew Wood is the founder of BoundFor. He started it as a parent: his family had moved from Auckland to Whangārei a few years earlier, and choosing a school for his son in a town he was still getting to know meant scattered PDFs, out-of-date zone maps and word of mouth. BoundFor is the tool he and his wife needed at the time.

Before BoundFor, Matthew worked in data analysis in New Zealand and taught English in Japan. That mix of reading messy official datasets carefully, and explaining complicated systems plainly is what BoundFor's school profiles and reports are built on.

Matthew writes and reviews BoundFor's guides on school zones, the Equity Index and ERO reports, Education Counts and ERO source data. He lives in Whangārei with his family, with two more school choices ahead of him.
