Naenae College in brief
Naenae College is a large state co-educational secondary school (Year 9–13) in Avalon, Lower Hutt, with 814 students on the roll. Its Equity Index of 500 is above the national midpoint, meaning more of its students face socio-economic barriers, and the school receives extra funding to support them. EQI reflects funding need, not school quality. It has an enrolment zone, so living at an in-zone address guarantees a place. It opened in 1953.
